I love, love, love my Kindle! My mother gave me the money to buy a Kindle for my Birthday this past October. It is simply the best birthday give I have ever received. Many people have stated that the screen is hard to read or that this will not last as a viable product etc. They are wrong. I read faster on the Kindle because I can adjust the text size. I read more now because I have access to all books at all times. I can take it on BART with me and have several different books at any time to read. The battery life is terrific and I love the fact I can bookmark, write a note at any point in the text and that I can download a book anywhere. I love books, and I have some beautiful books from my graduate studies in Latin, Greek and Sanskrit. I will keep those forever. But, I cannot tell you how many hardcover books, I have bought and enjoyed reading that I then had to give away. I live in a very small apartment, and having mysteries, fiction, the latest political books, etc. is a luxury. Now, with my Kindle I don't have to toss them. Think of all those trees! I will never tire of having real books. But, to give you an example, I just downloaded a biography of Lincoln that was a hardcover book, and also on my Kindle I have the complete Jane Austen, the complete I. Kant, and so many others. I can take them on BART and not break my back. I always take a book wherever I go. This enables me to take many books with me. Reading is such a great past time. I rarely push a product, but if you love to read, buy a Kindle because it is a joy. I told my mom that it was the best present in the world. If you have someone in your life who loves to read, buy them a Kindle for Christmas. They will love it and you. Finally, I gave it 5 stars, because I find not negatives in this product. It is all good. I do not recommend large Picture books--those are for display. But, even the book I downloaded on how to use Excell was easy to read. (You can zoom in on any diagrams.) So, take the plunge! Get a kindle!
