Riding in this Seabreacher X vehicle is probably the only time you’ll be able to ride in a shark and still be alive. Resembling the great white shark the Seabreacher X is a two seater boat that has a 260hp engine, which makes it capable of travel at a top speed of 50 mph on water and 25 mph underwater. It’s capable of jumping up to 12 feet out of the water and rolling 90 degrees to the left and right.
The shark boat also includes other features such as a a snorkel mounted video camera transmits live video to LCD screens for the pilot and passenger during dives, GPS navigation, and on board stereo system with iPod docking. It costs about £60,000.

Are you tired of the modern bicycles? Student designer Tim Turrini-Rochford from the University of South Australia designed the “NoVelo“, a hybrid vehicle powered by human movement and electric power. Created encourage more people to adopt low impact transportation technology.
“‘Novelo’ uses a parallelogram linkage that allows the vehicle to tilt through corners. A small movement of the steering handles turns the front wheels that in turn changes the weight distribution and cases the vehicle to tilt. When the steering is centred the vehicle returns upright. This results in Novelo being able to corner faster and with more stability than current velomobiles, as well as having a much smaller turning circle. The tilting mechanism allows the centre of gravity to be higher, resulting in a vehicle which is more visible to other road users and hence safer.
The fairing uses a combination of a horizontal and vertical aerofoil to provide both outstanding aerodynamics and stability in windy conditions. The estimated Cda (measure of aerodynamic performance) would result in a speed of 50 kmph from just 250 watts of power, less than two light bulbs. This energy can easily be provided by the user or through an in built 300-watt hub motor or both.
The fairing is manufactured from a sandwich of Kevlar, flax fibre and foam honeycomb. Kevlar is used for its impact absorbing characteristics and flax as a renewable alternative to carbon fibre. Both materials are easily moulded into complex shapes and allow the internal frame to be moulded into the fairing in a monocoque process removing the need for an internal space frame and reduces manufacturing time and assembly steps.
Novelo has been designed to comply with both motor scooter standards and laws regarding power assist bicycles as it could easily fit into either category. It incorporates both LED brake and signal lights and super bright low energy LED headlamps. Hydraulic disc brakes are used on all wheels to ensure the vehicle has excellent stopping power.”

Here is the Aerial Rescue Chopper created by designer Leong Huang Zi. As you can see it’s much more advanced than the rescue helicopters we have today.
Huang Zi: “I have always wanted to create a whole new world in my mind. A world set in the distant future where there is a federation of nations that helps keep the order. Yes, my very own “Star Wars” or “Starship Troopers”. Anyway, this world of mine won’t be too advance. Maybe 100 years from now? There will be no flying spaceships and teleport devices. There must be a certain retro feel to it but yet, it must be futuristic. I am still thinking it up. But here is a peek at one of the vehicles that will fly in my world. The UMSC or the Universal Military Service Corp (I should figure out a better name) is a peace keeping military unit. The ARC serves as their multi-purpose chopper for rescue operations. Able to navigate rough terrain, this helicopter is meant for surveillance and scouting in both land and sea divisions. Featuring a unique duo fan propeller and air turbo system, the ARC is still in prototype stage. Granted, I need to find better things to do with my time. Oh well, more vehicles to come.” (more…)
Airline company Terrafugia builds a flying plane-car model in which they call it a “roadable aircraft”. The plane-car aircraft can fit up to two people and will cost you $200,000.
How does it convert to flying in the sky to being able to ride on the road?
After landing, the pilot activates the electro-mechanical wing folding mechanism from inside the cockpit. The wings fold, once at the root and once at the mid-span, and are stowed vertically on the sides of the vehicle in less than 30 seconds. Simultaneously, the engine power is directed to the wheels with a continuously variable transmission.
Before flying, the pilot extends the wings and performs a standard preflight. The engine power is directed to the propeller for flight through a carbon fiber drive shaft. (more…)
Take a good look at Mercedes SLS AMG E-Cell electric supercar. The bright yellow car is equipped with 4 electric engines, which is said to produce power that will give up to 519 horsepower and 649 lb-ft of torque. The electric vehicle also gets up to 0-60 in just four seconds, features a 10 inch touch screen dashboard, reduction gears, a multi-link suspension and many more high grade features.
For right now it’s just a prototype, but if everything goes well be prepared to see a release sometime in 2013. (more…)
